2019 Player Evaluations

Updated Saturday February 9, 2019 by MTLL.

All Player Evaluations will be held Indoors at Dakota High School's main gym. There will be a check in table at the front of the Athletic Entrance. Please bring all your baseball gear and wear gym shoes. Evaluations will cover Hitting, Fielding, Pitching, and Catching (Catching is not mandatory, only if interested. Catcher gear will be provided on site).

To accommodate our parents we have set up two days. You must attend one of the two.

If you are a protected player on any team, your Coach will contact you prior to evaluations and you are not required to attend evaluations.

Coach Pitch and Tee-ball Divisions do not attend Evaluations.

"Is the evaluation used to determine skill level and/or to place players on teams? Never been at an evaluation - not sure what to expect. "
Don Gusse commented on February 25, 7:39pm
"Yes that is correct. It helps the coaches determine skill level so we can create equal teams the best we can. It's 3 stations inside Dakota's two gyms. Hitting off a machine, ground balls/pop ups, and pitching. Anyone interested in Catcher can also do that. It's very structured so we can move hundreds of kids through all the stations very quickly."

"What speed (MPH) will the machine be at for evaluations?"
Don Gusse commented on March 1, 9:38pm
"It depends on the division. It's not fast. We want the kids to hit!!!"

"Hi, we are new to the league and to Little League baseball in general. What equipment is required for evaluations of the Rookie division? Bat, glove, and baseball? Thank you."
Don Gusse commented on March 5, 8:59pm
"All they need is a glove and gym shoes. However, many of the kids bring their own bat and helmet which is fine too."
